Mirror, mirror....

...on the wall!

Good afternoon bloggers!

I've not been around for many moons again. What with kids starting school (Ross for the first time!) I have been busy, busy.busy with life and not had a lot of time for crafting.

I did get my Craft Stamper mag though and have been having a dabble with some inks and metal tape, inspired by one of their articles and made a nice wee mirror (that my mum is currently trying to nick as she has 'the perfect spot for it').

Here it is:

The mirror is from a v.famous Swedish shop and I covered it in my new bestest friend (metal tape), after sticking some embellies to it. I then alcohol-inked the metal tape and used more metal tape to die-cut the flowers and butterflies.

I then die cut letters for the words Mirror, mirror (you can see them on the top right of mirror) and used my dymo to type out 'on the wall' onto some copper tape. (bottom left of pic)

I had a ball doing this mirror (thank you Craft Stamper for the info and inspiration).

I'm off to a craft meet in about a week and am taking my metal tape with me to show people how easy it is to use.

I LOVE my mirror - and being my first one my mum will have a fight on her hands getting it off me LOL.

Hope you like it too!

A Card for Sophie

Hi there

I added a link to my blog a wee while back (top left hand side), about making a card for Sophie. She's is receiving treatment for Hodgkin's Disease at the moment and I have heard recently that she is doing well. She still has about 4 months of treatment left, so if you would like to make a card for Sophie please click on the link for further information :o)

Here is the card that I made, which is winging its way to Sophie as we speak:

I used violet colours throughout the card, as these are the colours for Hodgkin's Awareness. I love that sentiment, and I know how much of a fight Sophie will have to be putting up to come through all of this, so thought it very appropriate for the card. The background of the card is a fabric, I have no idea where I got it from, but am now wishing I had bought more LOL.

This is a wee close up of the image from Kenny K, which I thought fitted the sentiment exactly. I hope Sophie likes her card :o)

So free up a wee bit of time from your busy day,  pop on over to Kerry's blog to find out how to send Sophie a wee bit of crafters love :o) - you know you want to...

HELLO and Pretty in Pink!

Hi there

Feels like I have fallen off the face of the earth recently, not felt much like doing anything recently. Haven't crafted for what feels like eons.

Visited a friend last week to try and get me back on track and in the land of the living, and managed to create a card for a DT that I am on while there. I'm quite happy with her, though I'm not sure how she turned out as well, considering I haven't crafted for so long.

Here she is:

The image is 'Baby Cakes' from Saturated Canary (a new shop for digis is being opened very soon) for thecurrent challenge over at Fat Pages and Cards with Attitude Challenge Blog . Isn't she just soooo sweet!

I coloured her with my Promarkers, quite chuffed with the way she has come out, am thinking now that I should have maybe added a few freckles to her nose LOL.

Lovely, yummy flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Ingredients:

Image: Saturated Canary
Sentiment: LOTV
Medium: Promarkers
Papers: Me to You
Die Cutter: Nellie Snellin
Flowers and Metal Corner: Wild Orchid Crafts
Embellishments: Pins, ribbon and butterfly from stash

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenge:

Tic Tac Toe, Design Team Call & Happy New Year!

Good Afternoon Blogland

Happy New Year!

I haven't been around for a while mainly because of Christmas and a painful sore back that I have been suffering (I think from lifting a small child about).

Am feeling better now though, so have managed to get some crafting done.

Over at The Crazy Challenge this week we are playing Tic Tac Toe (Noughts and Crosses to us UK folk). You have to use 3 elements, like winning a line of Tic Tac Toe. This is the grid:

and we are sponsored this week by the wonderful Digi Doodles. You have the chance to win a $10 gift certificate to spend in their store.

This is the bookmark that I made for Tic Tac Toe, I used Ribbon, Image and Gems.

We're also having a Design Team call over at The Crazy Challenge as we are looking for some new team members, so be sure to pop over to the blog and read all about it

Thanks for looking
