First Christmas Card This Year & a New Challenge Blog

Evening fellow bloggers!

There is a new challenge blog called 'Make It Monday' and they are currently looking for Design Team members. It would be fantastic to be on a DT from the very first day and so I thought I would throw my wee hat in the ring, well - you have to be in it to win it, as they say! There is only around 19 hours left to get your entries in (I only just found the site tonight), so if your quick you can still have a go!

You have to make a card following the sketch, I quite like to have a sketch to follow, sometimes gets my creative juices flowing when I've mislaid my Mojo (as we all do from time-to-time).

I already had a Kenny K digi coloured from a while ago and decided to use her as I would have to make the card quickly, and with having the dreaded four letter place to go to tomorrow (W-O-R-K), time was of the essence!

This is the card I rustled up:
Quite Christmassy colours and obviously a wee saucy card for a man.

Love that image, she's so cheeky and just had to add loads of glamour dust to her frilly bits!

Wee poinsetta with stickles added and two bits of bling to bring out the holly on the backing paper.

Love this sentiment - very fitting for the card to I think...

Ingredients for the card:
Image: Kenny K digistamp - Mistletoe
Sentiment: Created on MS Word
Medium: Promarkers
Papers: Forever Friends Christmas Glow & CS from stash
Embellishments: Pompom ribbon, poinsetta, Glamour Dust, Frosted Lace stickles & red gems

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenge:
Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog - Ooh La La
I'm off up the wooden hill now, if you have entered to be part of the DT, goodluck and if I don't make it onto the DT I'll be sure to play along with the challenges!!

Thanks for looking....

We're All Going on a Summer Holiday...

... I wish! Was another wonderful 'blow you away' day here on the West Coast. At least the cobwebs will be getting a clear out. I think it has affected blogland too, can't leave a comment anywhere at the mo, driving me nuts - asking me to log in a hundred times over.......

What I'd do for a sunny beach right now..... oh well - I suppose this card will have to do instead:
It is a teeny bit bright, but with this weather I need something to brighten things up.

Magnum and Lily on their deckchairs - wot they like :o). I gave Lily a wee burnt nose and cheeks, must have forgotten the SPF. Real shells too, from Luce Bay just south of Stranraer.

This is the inside, kinda reminds me of a Punch n Judy show, remember them. Do they still have P n J at the beach these days???

Ingredients:
Image: Ladybug Crafts Ink Stamp - Magnum and Lily
Medium: Promarkers
Papers: £1 shop and CS from stash
Embellishments: Shells from beach, ribbons from stash.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:
TLT Challenge 29 - Meow, woof, roar, squeak...
MAWTT Challenge 100 - Holidays
DYSU Challenge 21 - Animals
Dream Valley Challenge 8 - Stamp Something

I'm off to bed now, and hoping that tomorrow will be a bit better weather, but it's a bank holiday so I'm not counting me chickens...

Thanks for looking...

It was his birthday a wee while ago and here is the card I made for him:

I won the image a while ago from Totally Stampalicious for a Halloween card (one of my very first challenge wins!!). I got to choose digistamps from their website and I just had to have this one!

Image: Totally Stampalicious - Road Hawg!
Sentiment: Kanban Rocking Teddy Bears
Medium: Promarkers and Glamour Dust
Backing Papers (I use the term loosely): Faux Metal Plate (is that even a thing??)

New Challenge Blog

Afternoon from a rainy windswept Scotland! I went out to the shops this morning and decided to walk - came back like a drowned rat! Did enjoy the fresh air though :o)

I was having a wee browse through the blogs that I follow and came across a post from Jacki, with details of a new challenge blog that is starting up. Here's the link . They also have a Craft Shop called Craft Room which you can visit here.Well worth a visit - go on, you know you want to.

They also have some great blog candy on offer, which is on my sidebar.

As if that isn't enough, they are also looking for design team members for the new challenge blog.

You have to choose three different projects that you feel represent your style of crafting. I thought I'd give it a try and here are the three projects I have chosen.

I made this card for my nephew's birthday. The stamped image has the little frog trying to get away from the boy (as you can see), I thought it would be quite fun to have the frog jumping right out of the card, so I cut round him and then mounted the image and raised the frog with a 3D foam square.

The second card I have chosen was a commission for a friend's mum and dad's 40th wedding anniversary. I quite like trying different styles of cards. This shaped card looks quite good as an easel card and I think the nesties I have used fit in really well with the shape of the card.

The third project I have chosen is a wall hanging that I made for a craft meet in Newcastle. I loved making this, it took ages, but was a lot of fun. It has a load of different bits n bobs added and involved quite a bit of distressing.

As for my style I don't know if I have a set style. I love cute kid images and classic styles, but also like dabbling in altered art/distressing things etc, and would love the chance to create for a design team, as I have guest designed for a challenge blog before and would love the chance to be on a team permanently. I also love to try out new techniques and new craft products, and try to do something a wee bit different from the norm.

If you fancy trying out for the design team or fancy winning some candy pop on over to Craft -Room Challenge. You have until the 22nd May.

Happy Crafting

Making up for lost time

I know - 3 posts in one day - unheard of in the house of Digney!

Having to make up for lost time away from computer while scrapbooking like mad!!!

I have one more card to show you then I'm off to bed as have to go to work tomorrow, as I didn't win the Euromillions (well had 2 numbers and 1 lucky star, but can hardly give up work with winnings of £5.00 odds LOL).

Here's the card:

The pp is Hampstead by Papermania that I won on a bloghop earlier in the year. The butterflies are punched with bits of bling added to the wings and bodies. I also used my new nestie for the blue background.

I did have a close up of the image, but I can get it to load :o(

The image is a Sugar Nellie Stamp that I got in my local craft shop, using a bit of my £25 loyalty bonus for filling my loyalty card!! I coloured her with my PMs.

I'd like to enter the above card in the following challenge:

The Sugar Bowl - Erica's Sketch

Thanks once again for looking - off to bed now - nightie-night

Time for Tea?

...of course you have, there's always time for tea - I'd be a walking nightmare without my tea. Need all the caffine I can get to keep up with my boys!

I made the below card as it reminds me of tea sets I had when I was little, remember making 'tea' for your guests (okay - dolls) in your wendy house :oD

The pp is Back to Basics by Dovecraft, the ribbon is Fizzy Moon and the buttons are from stash (wish I could remember where I got them coz I'm running out, and they're ever so cute)

The image is from Lily of the Valley, coloured with my PMs.

I'd like to enter the above card in the following challenges:

Inspirational Card Sketches - #113 Sponsor Sweet n Sassy Stamps
Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT - Challenge 26 Going Dotty (paper and tea set)
Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog - Childhood Memories

Thanks for looking and any lovely comments you leave!

Happy 21st Rachel!

Afternoon from a miserable Scotland - although the sun is trying it bestest to come out and play.

I've been AWOL for a couple of weeks as I have been frantically finishing a scrapbook for my niece Rachel's     21st birthday. Her birthday was on 1st May, but her party wasn't until last night so had a bit of extra time to finish her album off and make her a card. Here is the card I made for her:

She is a fan of purple and the card is much more purple IRL and she is also a fan of those really high heels that give me vertigo just looking at them! The CS and bling along the bottom are from stash.

I coloured the image with my PMs and added GD to the bows, ribbon and the insides of the shoes. The flowers are from Wild Orchid and the key charm from Meiflower.

Of course I had to use my Foil It machine again for the sentiment and numbers, and added a couple more roses to finish it off.

Rachel loved her album, but will probably still be in her bed at the moment, but I'm sure she'll like her card too.

I'd like to enter this wee card in the following challenges:

Catch the Bug Challenge Blog - May Anything Goes
Craft Your Passions - Challenge 56 Anything Goes
DYSU Challenge Blog - #18 Purple
Stamp Something - May Digi Day Challenge (Bugaboo Digi Image)
One Stitch At A Time - Challenge 61 Fancy Folds (Side Step Card)
A Spoonful of Sugar - Challenge 150 White and One Colour (White and Purple)
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes

That's all folks

Thanks for looking and any comments you are kind enough to leave
