I'm Back!

Afternoon bloggers.

Had put my back out - all that carrying of a 3 year old has finally taken its toll. So sitting typing at PC wasn't my first thought.

Feeling much better now after a course of anti-inflammatories from a v kind doctor.

There is some fantastic blog candy on offer over at Crafty Mess, a lovely new blog, that will be starting some challenges soon.

Here's a sneak peak of it!

Isn't it fabby! Pop over to Crafty Mess here to have a look for yourself and join in with the fun!

Will be back shortly with some goodies that I bought from the SECC on Friday (what a lovely day of shopping with Alison and June and a wee visit to my friend Pat's stand too). Will also be back with a couple of cards I made recently.

See ya real soon!

My Funny Valentine

Evening Bloggers!

Just a quick post from me tonight. Ross fell asleep a couple of hours ago, therefore had a few hours of crafting bliss!

Made a wee Valentine's Day card while I was free for a while. Bought a few wee Digistamps from Bugaboo when they had their sale on in January, and I thought this one was perfect for a Valentine's Day card:

Isn't she fun? I coloured the image with Promarkers and added gem stones for her earrings and glossy accented the icing on the cake.

The glossy accent looks a bit odd as it is still wet (had to take picture quickly so that it didn't run!

I used a Tim Holtz die and bright pink pearlescent CS for the hearts (it doesn't look as pink in the main picture, but is really bright), and also added some gems to the hearts. The sentiment is from a set by Papermania which I mounted onto the pearlescent CS. The backing paper is from stash (red with pink polka dots.

So that's my wee Valentine's card. I'd like to enter the above card in the following challenges:

It's Hip to be Square - but not this week!

Hello bloggers!

Over at Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT this week the theme is 'Anything But Square'.

I have had a card half made for a while now, which was anything but square, and decided that this was the perfect opportunity to finish it. Here it is:

Definitely not a square :o). I made the card using the LCI Cupcake Stamp, and it took a while!
1. Stamp the image onto some scrap card and cut around cupcake, cutting right round to make a cupcake template.
2.Using the template and a fresh piece of white card, draw round the template to make the background. Draw the front images first and then add the cupcakes in the background.
3. Decorate the cupcakes and adhere to an A5 piece of card folded lengthways.
4. stamp the cherry from the Cupcake Stamp several times onto some card and cut out. Colour and add glossy accents. Put aside to dry.
5. Stamp the main image of Cupcake Cutie and colour. I added some GA to her shoes to make the patent and also to the cherry on the main image, also added some glitter to her top.
6. Adhere the cherries to the bottom of the card and the main image positioned in front of the other cupcakes.
7. Add sentiment. Mine was from a set I got free with Docrafts magazine yonks ago.

Looks like Cupcake Cutie is going to be busy with all those cherries still to add!

The cherries are much glossier IRL.

I'd like to enter this card in: Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT - Anything But Square.

Little Bit o Burns the Scottish Bard

Burn's Night is nearly upon us - 25th January (my eldest was born on 30th January and is called Robert, just missed the appropriate date to be born by 5 days LOL).

I made some little ATCs that mark the occasion, here they are below in all their glory:

If you click on the picture you should be able to read the excerpts of wee poems by the man himself.

I used a tartan pp that I have had in my stash for ever, added some lace left over from my wedding dress - that'll be antique lace then, since I've had it for 15+ years:o) and some flowers that I won from Sue on a Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT blog hop! Thanks Sue.

I found a scroll shape on the web and did a bit o jiggery-pokery (as my dad would say) to add the wee bits o poetry, printed onto cream CS and crumpled then a little distressing ink added to age them a little. I also distressed the edges of the ATCs with a nail-file (do we crafters never use anything as it was intended - probably not), attached the scrolls to the ATCs with some 3-D squares and voila!

Some of these have people's names already attached, as I owe a few for swaps on the Docrafts Forum. Might have to keep a wee one for myself :o)

Thanks for looking and any comments you might leave.

I'd like to enter the above ATCs to the following Challenge:

Happy Belated New Year!

Hello 2011.

I have no idea where the last few weeks went. Had a fabby Christmas and New Year, but haven't had a chance to play with my new toys yet, when I do the results will be on here!

I have had a chance to craft a little, but have spent most of the time trying to squeeze a new sea of toys into a small childs already over-flowing room full. The advantages of a teenager is that the gifts get smaller so no struggle to find a home for their new stuff!

I managed to create the below card in between the chaos:

The image is by Sugar Nellie "Baby Millie" isn't she sweet with her ickle teddy and blanky. The papers are from various selections as I was trying to keep the card mono-coloured The stamp is one I have had in my stash for eva' but have never used. Can't think Why coz it's a great sentiment.

Millie is coloured with my Promarkers and the little bits o bling are from Ladybug Crafts Ink and I cut round the image with a Spellbinder scalloped circle and inked it up a little with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.

The flower is from stash with another wee bit o bling added and the pink dummy (it's kinda transparent - you can just make it out, it's much nicer IRL) I got at the SECC one year from Mae Flower.

That's my card. Not made a baby card in a while and think it has turn out no bad.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Santa is just around the corner....

... I can almost hear his jingling bells :o).

Snow has gone for now, but may not be away for too long. I'm at the 'Oh who have I forgotten' stage, where panic sets in! At least I have 8 days (8 DAYS!!!) left to get the last bits n pieces.

I made my mum a bracelet for part of her Christmas, she can't wear metals as it breaks her out in a rash, but quite liked some glass bead bracelets I had made for myself. So I have made one for her and will pop it in with her pressie.

I needed something to put it in and found a wee gift bag template on Craft Stamper website.

This is the bag I made:
The stamp is by Ladybug Crafts Ink (Ruby). Isn't her Santa suit great! She is coloured with my Promarkers and glitzed up with glamour dust on all her fluffy bits (although they haven't photographed really well :o/ ). I added some tinsely ribbon round the top of the bag just to set it off.

I also added wee pearls to Ruby's coat for buttons and die cut some snowflakes, from blue card, with a cuttlebug die and covered them with glamour dust. There is a Christmas greeting of '...with love at Christmas Time' on the back with more die cut snowflakes.

I'd like to enter the above gift bag in the following challenges:

A little bit of sunshine through the snow!

Morning from a v.white West Coast of Scotland!

I dunno what everybody is moaning about - I love the stuff, all white and fluffy and irresistable. Dontcha just love putting your footprints in the newly fallen stuff??

Here's the 6 foot snowman outside my door, built by my eldest Robert (on the left) and the two kids from down the street. The outside cupboards were raided for arms and hence the two badminton rackets sticking out of the snowman. They had to get Billy (my hubby) to lift the body and head onto him as it was so heavy. Ross (3) isn't in the photo as he was far to busy in the snow to be bothered with all that photo-taking malarky.

Over at Ladybug Crafts Ink TLT Challenge Blog this week they are using the colourwheel, and you have to choose the colour opposite your favourite colour to make a card! I looovveee BLUE (don't see the point in other colours - well other than to show off how nice blue is LOL). Therefore, I had to use ORANGE to make my card!! Not a colour I use very often I must admit, but I don't hate it. I did struggle a bit looking for orange stash, but then came across a Docrafts Goodiebag from a while ago that had the Capsule Collection inside - and it was all orangey and lemony - just perfect!

Here's my card with the ever so adorable Jack on it!

Doesn't look like he'll be so adored when the rightful owner of those flowers finds out though LOL.  The ribbon, brads and papers are all from the Capsule Collection.

Jack (who you can buy here - and for December get another stamp half price!) was coloured with my Promarkers and I added some ickle flowers I found in my stash to the image with little bits of bling in the middle of them to make it a wee bit more 3-D. I think they work really well.

The sentiment is from a free stamp set with the Docrafts magazine this month, and just suits this image to a T. I also added some more of the ickle flowers to balance things up a bit.

I'm quite chuffed with my orange card, and you never know I may use it more in the future.

Over at MAWTT this week they are looking for cards 'For Someone Special', and this card is just right soooo - I'd like to enter the above card in the following challenges:
